The 2014 World 540s will be run on Saturday 9th August, 61 Matai Street, Taupo.
1st and foremost, this is a NZRCS NON sanctioned event, in other words its a Black Track race meeting, its a FUNsocial event with racing as an extra, but even though its unsanctioned, some NZRCS rules will be adhered to, mainly car specs etc.
EDIT(If you want to bring a mate to give it a go, and have a spare car, BRING THEM, the more the merrier. A license is NOT required, this is meant to be a fun event hehehehe)
THE DOORS OPEN AT 10ish allowing those traveling to get here in time, but I think you should book accommodation for Saturday Night just in case, thats the Host responsibility over with..... ahem ;D ;D ;D
Racing will BEGIN @ 12ish, so please be earlyish to get your car sorted, and scrutineered.
Race Rules are pretty much the same as every year.
This year the Entry fee is $9.99 (with Dutch Rounding)
MOTORS WILL NOT BE SUPPLIED, BUT CAN ONLY BE 27T STOCK SILVER CAN MOTOR.
The track surface is smooth concrete
If possible, please enter before 8PM WEDNESDAY before the event. That will give us time to sort out the draws.
Groups will be made up of a min of 10 cars per group, all randomly drawn by computer.
Grid position will also be drawn, so it's not first in best dressed.
Depending on numbers, working on 60 entries, there will be 5 x 3 race heats (10 Car min in each Group), with A Main (20 Cars) B Main (20 Cars max) and C Main (20 Cars max) 3 heat finals. (B and C Main car numbers may change, depending on entries)
Minimum 4 top points winners from each group will advance to the A Main Finals group, PLUS The following current title holders will be given FREE passage to the Finals... 540s Champ, 1 NZ, NI Champ, SI Champ, GP Champ, U16 Champ, and any visiting drivers from OVERSEAS (Not over Cook Straight sorry guys)
You may race in the heats, but you forfeit your right to a Free pass, in other words, you have to qualify like everyone else. You will be allowed limited practice time during the break in the heats
The remaining positions available EXCEPT 1, for the A Main group, will be the taken from the finishing positions of a 15 Lap Repocharge race, which will consist of a max of 20 cars(Yehaaa), that had the highest total points out of YOUR Heat. In essence, a second chance to get to the A Main Finals ;D ;D ;D ;D
AND again this year, it has been decided that there will be a WILDCARD entry, taken from ALL of the non qualifiers, essentially someone to stir it up, Im sure there will be a few to choose from
Grid positions for the repocharge race will be highest points on Pole, 2nd highest Grid 2, and so on......
Points are 1st 20, 2nd 19, 3rd 18, and so on. DNF, 1 point (or on lap position). DNS 0 points.
If there's equal points in heats and finals, there will be a 4 lap run off to determine winner.
1 2 minute call per race
Races will be 15 lap heats, 15 lap Repocharge, and 20 lap finals
If your car get rolled, THE RACE WILL BE STOPPED, and if its still rolled when the RED lights and buzzer sounds, IT WILL BE REMOVED. If removed its a DNF, 1 point ONLY. Racing will also be stopped, for special circumstances, ie: safety issue.
If your car is spat out of the track, its a DNF, 1 point ONLY
If your car somehow manages to get stuck on the infield or in the SANDPIT, its a DNF, 1 point ONLY. THIS IS ALSO AT THE DISCRETION OF THE TRACK MARSHALL, they may stop the race and re-enter the car.
The Race Marshall decision is FINAL, and NO protests will be received, in other words, hard luck sonny.
AMB Transponders will be used, so it is YOUR responsibility to make sure it is mounted correctly. There will be limited time to make sure they work before the meeting starts. Use this opportunity
If you require a HANDOUT transponder, that will cost you $5 for the day, so if you enter any other classes, and you need a handout, payment is not required for those classes.
Racing will be controlled by computer voice and lights. Green GO, Red STOP. When you hear the siren during racing, it means STOP, remembering there is a NO STOPPING zone near transponder bridge, move forward away from bridge, then STOP.
1 entry means 1 driver with the 1 car, at scrutineering time. The car you scrut is the car you race.
REMEMBER THE STOCK CAR RULES WILL BE ADHERED TO
Any questions ask away below
HAVE FUN
Cheers
