This is being treated as a FUN event, something a little bit different.
We will be racing INSIDE the Spa Hotel, Spa Road, Taupo.
There plenty of parking just outside the door to the area where we will be racing.
Theres power available, and plenty of room for the pits inside.
The track surface is marble tiles, semi slick, and semi rough.
The Spa Hotel has accomodation on site, so you can race, have a few beers, fall over, and crawl to your bed.
PLEASE NOTE: Beacause the event is inside a licensed premises, all minors MUST be supervised at all times. We are not saying NO KIDS, the more racers the better, we are just being reponsible hosts.
Entry fee is just $5, to cover the trophies, and you can pay on the day, BUT PLEASE register, so we know numbers and to set up the race program.
Transponders will be used for all those flag racers, BUT you do NOT have to have a transponer to race, thats for all you bashers out there. The choice is yours hehehehehe.....
The track will be set-up mid morning - lunch time, so theres plenty of time for out of towners to arrive, get your car srutineered, and have a practice before the racing starts at around 4.
NORMAL national body rules will apply. Your car will have to pass scrutinering, but we won't be too harsh, so common sense will apply. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Oh and just a little subnote
LIPO batteries, as the rules state, 6 cell 7.2 Volts, IF you cab get a Lipo that fits this description, they are within the rules and you can use them.
Motors, now there has been a little aggrovation about these, so here is MY understanding as the rules state......
Motors
Must be between 27 to 23 turn with a fixed end bell. (No adjustable timing) Brushless motors are not allowed.
Adjustable timed motors - OK as long as they have a fixed end bell. It does NOT say no adjustable timed motors
Hand wound armatures - OK as along as they are between 27 & 23 Turns
At the end of the day, I still have fun with an off the shelf TZ RZ, even a tin can motor as at the 540's ;D ;D
These comments will open a can of worms, but......... thems the rulez
Anyway heres the National rules just to refresh the memory .............

Race rules.
The number of starters permitted to start in any race will be decided by the track marshall, and his decision will be final and binding.
When the marshall calls the race, vehicles must line up in the grid they have drawn. If you are unable to make it you can call for 2 minutes. There is only allowed to be one 2-minute bell per race.
Race will commence after the sequence of beeps from the lap scorers.
RACE IN PROGRESS
Competitors shall take all proper care, and deliberate aggressive contact before and after a race is strictly forbidden. Stationary vehicles are to be avoided wherever possible, and competitors will not attempt to force or steer other vehicles into stationary vehicles.
Vehicles must race in an anti clockwise direction. Should a competitor find himself in a position where he cannot drive in an anti clockwise direction, he must not attack until in the correct position. The correct position is defined as anywhere from a right angle back to the direction of flow of traffic.
Attacking from a stationary position or hitting a stationary car is not permitted. Those members who wish to wait for an opposing member should be moving, however slowly at all times in the correct direction (it must be remembered that this competition is called racing and parked vehicles are not to be considered as part of the competition.)
Any competitor using the wall to an advantage, in the opinion of the track marshall may be penalised.
Any competitor using the pole line to advantage by placing one or more wheels over the pole line to eliminate another competitor will be fined and excluded from the race.
Any competitor deliberately driving infield (to avoid oncoming cars) for a sanctuary (to gain advantage) shall be fined and excluded from the race.
When teams are racing for points, either “first past the post” or “points” racing may decide on the winning team. The chosen system and points are up to the promoter’s discretion. It is permissible to push your own team members cars at any stage during a teams race, providing that the car doing the pushing has not already received the chequered flag.
SUBSTITUTIONS
No substitute cars or drivers may be entered into championship events if a particular car or driver is eliminated during racing. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO TEAMS RACING.
FINISH OF RACE
Racing will continue until all able vehicles have completed the lap they were on when the end of race is called by means of an audible sound.
Any questions, nice comments, please place below
Thanks
