Just a remider TRANSPONDERS will be used, so make sure you have a mount on your CHASSIS. Mounting to he body or bonnet is NOT an option. Mounts can be welded or securely bolted in. You can locate in space that suits your chassis, under the roll cage, or under the front bonnet between the main rails, are good places, that take a minimal amount of work to mount. If you are mounting to your side rails, make sure there is a crash rail around it. Just make sure there is enough room.above it for body or bonnet The transponders are 35mm long by 30mm wide by 15mm height. Hole for the prong is about 8mm hole Thanks admin

Bruce The main reason is because the loop is now suspended above the track we have to put the transponders upside down. Therefore if you try and mount this way to your bonnet it would have to be on the outside and Im afraid I dont want the transponders smashed to bits! If you use a rail like the first picture it must allow for the transponder to be slightly below those main rails to provide some protection. The 2nd pic is where alot of guys are mounting it which Im OK with, unless you have alot of alloy around it (ie an alloy body etc)... Cheers Dwayne

Tyron - you guys can just use the manual flag system on Saturday - problem solved....
Most of you guys would have seen on HB site or Wellington site transponder mounting posts, so it shouldnt be a complete surprise to everyone attending.....
Im sorry but the transponders need to be adequately protected as they can be damaged etc and they arent cheap to fix...We will do our best to accomodate everyone but would appreciate your best endeavours to put the required mounts on your cars.....
Cheers Dwayne

Hey Mate i wish i new before today that you couldn't mount the transponder to the body or bonnet!!!! i did at the NZ's last year................why the change? Cheers TheMoonman hey mr moonman if you have a look at the HB site, i put a pic of my mount on the tank on there, it sits in the roll cage next to the motor, it took about ten min to make and weld in, a thin bit of flat metal welded on to the cross member, is this postion, works ok for both the HB and redneck transponders ( ones that are being used in the next NZ champs ) for Sparky and co I run the transponder prong up and it doesn't have a problem being picked up by the loop, at the HB champs and the NZ teams I hope this helps people having any concerns
